Don’t settle in haran-3
Genesis 11:31 “And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.”
Genesis 11:32 “And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.”
The mountain climbing started early in the morning and it was long and tedious. A vehicle conveyed them to the base of the mountain through a bumpy road and dropped them there. They started climbing as early as 5:30am. They got half way to a campsite around 4:00pm that same day.
The guide and organisers of the retreat lodged them at the camp for the night. On getting to the campsite, they were treated to good meals, hot swimming pool bath, barbecues and soft music. They were told to relax for the night so that they can set about climbing very early the next morning.
The following morning, the organisers woke them up to continue the climb but to their amazement, almost eighty percent of the management staff refused to continue the trip. They said the place where they lodged is quite exclusive and cosy enough to hold the meeting.
They concluded that the campsite is good and they should save themselves the stress of another long day of climbing. They begged the organisers that the retreat should be held at the campsite and from there they should just climb down and go back home.
At the end of the day, the organisers insisted the final meeting must be held at the peak of the mountain, and it was only about twenty eight per cent of the management staff that started the journey that finally made it to the destination.
They got there to discover a five start hotel and resort, exclusive rooms, sumptuous meals, accommodation that is fit only for kings and of course, a helicopter flight back home!
