Don’t settle in haran-2
Don’t settle in haran-2
Genesis 11:31 “And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.”
Genesis 11:32 “And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.”
…From yesterday…
You may say Terah lived long and I quite agree with you but the gist is this; he lived an unfulfilled life. He didn’t accomplish his goals and vision. He failed in the place of destiny.
He lived long but didn’t live well. An unfulfilled destiny is an insult to Heaven. Can you imagine Jesus coming to the world, healing all that were oppressed of the devil but refusing to die on the cross and saving the whole world?
Can you imagine David remaining a “successful shepherd” but refusing to confront and kill Goliath? Can you imagine Joseph interpreting his own dreams, that of his brothers and even that of the Butler and Baker without interpreting the dreams of Pharaoh?
Can you imagine an Apostle Paul becoming born again without writing seventy five per cent of the New Testament? Can you imagine the invention of the car without the invention of the break?
Friend, you must make up your mind to arrive at Canaan and not die in Haran no matter what! Don’t turn temporary places to a permanent one.
I remember once sharing the story of some management staff of an organisation who went for a retreat program. The aim of the retreat was to go to a five star mountain top resort and hold a crucial meeting there.
The mountain climbing started early in the morning and it was long and tedious. A vehicle conveyed them to the base of the mountain through a bumpy road and dropped them there. They started climbing as early as 5:30am.
To be continued…
