Exodus 2:18 “And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How [is it that] ye are come so soon to day?”

…From yesterday…

Mark 4:15 “And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan COMETH IMMEDIATELY, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.”

Now you understand why Satan came immediately the word was sown. When you grab this truth, the account in Genesis 26 will make more meaning to you.

Genesis 26:15 “For all the wells which his father’s servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.”

Genesis 26:18 “And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.”

Genesis 26:19 “And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.”

Genesis 26:20 “And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac’s herdmen…”

Genesis 26:21 “And they digged another well, and strove for that also…”

Genesis 26:22 “And he removed from thence, and digged another well…”

I am sure you’ve read that story severally and concluded it was all about well and water but the truth is this; it was deeper than physical water. It was about spiritual realities. What those satanic herdsmen were after was the spiritual power backing Isaac up.

The help that made Isaac prosper in famine was tied to the wells he was digging. Isaac had a hundredfold return during famine because according to bible scholars, he was using irrigation to water his farm. 

Irrigation was new then but it was an inspiration given to him by God. The herdsmen don’t know why he was prospering but they do know he was digging wells.
