Divine assistance-7

Exodus 2:18 “And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How [is it that] ye are come so soon to day?”

…From yesterday…

Friend, that Moses needed help, didn’t make him close his eyes to the needs of others. He went out of his way to help others in dire need. Many a times when we help others, it has a way of coming back to us in multiple folds. Don’t allow your needs overwhelm you.

God is sending you divine assistance that will bail you out of contrary situations of life, but can you equally be sensitive enough to allow God send you to somebody as a divine help?

Remember Joseph in prison, he was a prisoner like the Baker and Butler but he went ahead and interpreted their dreams. He didn’t allow his pains to stop him from using his talents.

What about the hungry prophet Elijah? God used an equally hungry and about to die widow to bail him out. As a matter of fact I want to believe it was the woman God actually wanted helping  since God calls Himself husband to the widow. 

God had used an angel and a raven to feed the prophet previously, so God could have raised a frog, a lion or another angel for Elijah but by choosing to use the widow, God actually had her on His radar. 

Helping the widow cost her the last meal she was to eat with her son before they die. 

1 Kings 17:12 “And she said, [As] the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I [am] gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” 

1 Kings 17:13 “And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go [and] do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring [it] unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.”

It looked as if the prophet was wicked and inconsiderate but the lesson is this;
