Exodus 2:18 “And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How [is it that] ye are come so soon to day?”

…From yesterday…

Those shepherds might have overpowered you, gathered your labour for themselves, chased you away from your harvest and even delayed you, it will not continue. The Lord will bring them under judgement. They think they are powerful and well connected, but they’re about to experience the greatest disgrace of their lives. 

Hear this:

Luke 11:22 “But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.”

Friend, the stronger than them from the Lord, your own “customised Moses” will show up for you. He will descend upon them, overcome them and destroy whatever they’ve been using to harass you. It is your season of divine rescue.

Note however that your divine help and helper may not appear in the form you expect. I have to sound this warning so that you don’t miss him or her!

Exodus 2:18 “And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How [is it that] ye are come so soon to day?”

Exodus 2:19 “And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew [water] enough for us, and watered the flock.”

When Reuel asked his daughters why they came back quickly, they said it was an “Egyptian” that rescued them. Reuel was a priest who could not defend his daughters and has resigned to “fate”. He doesn’t mind the time the daughters get back home each day, he has accepted delay as part of life until Moses showed up.

As a priest I want to believe he must have been praying daily asking God for divine assistance since he could not confront those shepherds alone. He was a man who knew that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal.
