My Christmas notes- Mess to Message-4

Matthew 1:3 “Judah had Perez and Zerah (the mother was Tamar), Perez had Hezron, Hezron had Aram,”

Matthew 1:5 “Salmon had Boaz (his mother was Rahab), Boaz had Obed (Ruth was the mother), Obed had Jesse,”

Matthew 1:6 “Jesse had David, and David became king. David had Solomon (Uriah’s wife was the mother),” (MSG)

…From yesterday…

The Moabites became God’s sworn enemies, yet Ruth made it into the  lineage of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

I think the Holy Spirit should have “tactically” excluded these folks from the beautiful, pure and righteous story of our Lord, Jesus Christ. But He didn’t! Why would he do that?

He did it because of you and I. The Holy Spirit knew that several years down the line, there will be folks with similar traits who the whole world won’t give a chance at doing something great or making any impact.

Friend, it doesn’t matter how rough, shattered, battered and terrible your background may have been, in Christ there is hope for you. If those folks can make it into his lineage, then you can.

Your background does not need to put your back on the ground. Where you’re coming from does not need to stop you from having a great future. The failures of the past shouldn’t limit your destiny. God has made preparations for you before you came.

That you’ve been Saul does not mean that Paul cannot cannot arise. The story of the lineage of Christ was well documented to give us hope. The hope for a glorious future.

Don’t let the devil and any man use your past against you. The story of Christmas is a pointer to the fact that God is still mindful of you despite all your shortcomings and errors.

God saw your struggles and limitations and came down to give you a better future. He came to rewrite the story of your life.

To be continued…

Love you BiG
