Valley of decision: The finisher-4
Joel 3:14 “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD [is] near in the valley of decision.”
When you see a man give up on the road of destiny he has one of those excuses to give but not Paul.
This man went on further and made another powerful statement:
1 Corinthians 9:24 “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.”
So much lesson to learn from this man! You’ve got to run like Paul. He said, “…RUN ALL…”
He then rounded up his assignment by saying:
2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith:”
2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought well. I have finished the race, and I have been faithful.”(CEV)
He didn’t just finish his assignment, he still had a lot of time to spear. That’s the way to roundup in life. Remember, prizes are only shared at the end of a race therefore you must finish and finish strong and well. Be on the medal list.
To finish, you must burn all the bridges. Kill off every distraction, cut off every relationship that can slow you down or discourage you. Give yourself no option than to finish.
Hear this advice from Jesus:
Luke 14:28 “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have [sufficient] to finish [it]?”
The first thought here is that, “Everyone who want to finish must be a planner.” Planning is a critical element that determines if a man finishes or not.
Luke 14:29 “Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish [it], all that behold [it] begin to mock him,”
Friend, when you don’t finish, you become an object of ridicule. Don’t be a man who starts by laying foundations and abandoned it. Many people’s life is like that, their lives are filled with several abandoned projects.
To be continued…
