​Prayer lesson from Rachel: Wrestling for it-2

Genesis 30:22 “And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.”

Genesis 30:23 “Finally, God remembered Rachel–he answered her prayer by giving her a son. “God has taken away my disgrace,” she said.” (CEV)

…From yesterday…

Let me ask you a question Jesus once threw to some folks. He said  

Matthew 6:27 “Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?”

In order words, what can you do to increase your height? There are things you can’t get no matter how much you stretch yourself.

Your strength is very limited. Why not simply make the strength of God your own through prayer?

Wise men simply exchange their strength for His own. Guess what?

1 Corinthians 1:25 “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

1 Corinthians 1:25 “Human wisdom is so tinny, so impotent, next to the seeming absurdity of God. Human strength can’t begin to compete with God’s “weakness.””

My friend, for how long will you continue to struggle and hustle? Even if God is weak, His weakness will always beat your strength hands down any day. I’ve seen men hustle and labour and couldn’t eat out of their sweat. Don’t run yourself out, and weary your body because you’re pursuing your selfish ambitions.

Hear this:

1 Corinthians 1:29 “That no flesh should glory in his presence.”

John 6:63 “The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” (NLT)

John 6:63 “The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don’t make anything happen. Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.” (MSG)

Your flesh is too weak. The earlier you come to terms with this the better.
