Prayer lesson from Rachel: The Alternative-3
Genesis 30:22 “And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.”
Genesis 30:23 “Finally, God remembered Rachel–he answered her prayer by giving her a son. “God has taken away my disgrace,” she said.” (CEV)
Unfortunately she learnt only the bad stuff. Rachel learnt the negative solution but didn’t bother about the consequences of her action. Friend, don’t create more complications and problems for the world simply because you want answers by all means,
I noticed that in all these Rachel never prayed to God. She was just driven by her ambition alone, she didn’t deem it fit to involve her Creator in her challenge. Many still do it today.
I further discovered that Rachel could have learnt something better from history. She could have rather copied the solution her direct mother-inlaw used to get or give birth to her husband.
Genesis 25:21 “And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she [was] barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.”
Rachel rather chose to copy and reproduce negative history. Friend, have you carefully considered the possible outcome of the step you are about to take?
I know you want results but is it according to God’s pattern? Don’t become another Rachel giving Bilhah to Jacob or another Sarah giving Hagar to Abraham, the world have enough “Ishmaels” already. Don’t be so result driven that errors become your legacy.
Here is something you must know; the strategy of the devil has not changed. He is still a master in the art of giving men alternatives. If he can attempt to use it against Jesus, nobody is spared:
Luke 4:5 “And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.”
