Prayer lesson from Rachel: The Alternative-2
Genesis 30:22 “And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.”
Genesis 30:23 “Finally, God remembered Rachel–he answered her prayer by giving her a son. “God has taken away my disgrace,” she said.” (CEV)
Alternate routes different from God’s process, standard and procedure gives us trouble that terrifies, disturb and alarms us. We end up with complex problems and frustrations.
The devil sure knows how to give us Bilhah but we must be sensitive enough to refuse her.
We know from history that this was not the he first time “Bilhah” showed up and was accepted. Rachel learnt the “devilish solution” from her grandmother-inlaw.
Genesis 16:1 “Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name [was] Hagar.”
Genesis 16:2 “And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.”
Genesis 16:3 “And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.”
Genesis 16:4 “And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and WHEN SHE SAW THAT SHE HAD CONCEIVED, HER MISTRESS was DESPISED in HER EYES.”
Sarah’s version of Bilhah was called Hagar. I studied the two episodes carefully and discovered that the words Rachel used were the exact same words used by Sarah, this means Rachel was a good student of history.
Unfortunately she learnt only the bad stuff. Rachel learnt the negative solutions but didn’t bother about the consequences of her action. Friend, don’t create more complications and problems for the world simply because you want answers by all means,
