​Prayer lesson from Rachel: The Alternative-1

Genesis 30:22 “And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.”

Genesis 30:23 “Finally, God remembered Rachel–he answered her prayer by giving her a son. “God has taken away my disgrace,” she said.” (CEV)

Another terrible thing that comes between us and our miracle is what I call “the danger of alternatives”. This is one of the most fiery and terrible weapons the devil uses against us. Once he can get us into this situation he has won. 

Genesis 30:3 “And she said, BEHOLD MY MAID BILHAH, GO IN UNTO HER; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.”

Genesis 30:4 “And SHE GAVE HIM BILHAH HER HANDMAID TO WIFE: and Jacob WENT IN UNTO HER.”

This is one of the last straws the devil always uses to break the camels back. 

My father in the Lord said, “There is nothing God can give you that the devil cannot give you”, the devil is a master at building the fake of God’s originals. Once God gives you a promise, the devil carefully coins out an alternate “promise” for you. 

Many times, his strategy is simply to give you a path that looks simpler as compared to what God offered. He shows us seemingly easier paths that looks like a shortcut. He tries to compress time so to say but at the end of such routes is massive destruction. 

How do I know?

Rachel like many people nowadays tried all she could and it seems success kept eluding her so she opted for an alternative, now the issue is this; her alternative’s name was Bilhah. Who is Bilhah?

The name Bilhah in the Hebrew simply means: trouble, to terrify, to disturb, alarm and hurry! Look at this hidden truth. When you seek a path different from God’s own, you end up with a “big Bilhah” in your hands.

Alternate routes different from God’s process, standard and procedure gives us trouble that terrifies, disturb and alarms us.
