​Prayer lesson from Rachel: Running to men-2

Genesis 30:22 “And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.”

…From yesterday…

Hear this:

2 Kings 6:27 “And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee?”

2 Kings 6:27 “He answered, “If GOD won’t help you, where on earth can I go for help?”” (MSG)

The above statement was made by the king of Israel in response to a woman’s plea. 

2 Kings 6:26 “And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, HELP, MY LORD, O KING.”

There was a serious famine in the land of Israel and the people have resulted to cannibalism, eating each other’s children. They needed a way out and the best place this woman, like Rachel ran to was a man. In this case she ran to the king but unfortunately the king was helpless.

The king himself needed serious help. Friend, the rich and the mighty that you covet and always look unto also needs help. The king of Israel told us here that the only source of help is the LORD. 

I have seen men make promises they couldn’t fulfil. A rich man once promised somebody a large sum of money to start business. The day the man went for the money as discussed, he learnt the rich man had died a day before.  

Psalms 146:3 “Put not your trust in princes, [nor] in the son of man, in whom [there is] no help.”

Psalms 146:5 “Happy [is he] that [hath] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope [is] in the LORD his God:”

Friend, get out of this your “looking unto men mode” and get down on your kneels to pray to the God who created you and that your “rich uncle or friend”. They need help too.

Look unto the God that cannot be removed from office through politics. Who cannot be sick, cannot die, go bankrupt or broke. 

His name is the All Sufficient One. Beloved, stop praying to God and looking unto men!
