​Prayer lesson from Rachel: Running to men-1

Genesis 30:22 “And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.”

Genesis 30:23 “Finally, God remembered Rachel–he answered her prayer by giving her a son. “God has taken away my disgrace,” she said.” (CEV)

…From yesterday…

Beloved, it is not every success that is from the devil. All things can be possible for you if you will only bend your kneels in prayer. 

Stop envying others, even if they got it from the devil, it shouldn’t be your problem. What should be your focus is God who can give you same without sorrow. If you believe your God is Almighty why not trust Him for something better?

A second response of people when they don’t seem to get what they want is to run to men for help. This is another powerful obstacle the enemy quietly introduce to us. 

Genesis 30:1 “And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and SAID UNTO JACOB, Give me children, or else I die.”

Rachel couldn’t have a child and the next thing she did was to look and run to a man for help. In the above scripture, she still didn’t turn to God, she turned to her hubby, Jacob. She forgot that her hubby is as helpless as she is in this matter.

One day, I was praying and “believing God” for something and the Holy Spirit spoke to me, he said,”Why are you praying to God and looking unto man?”

We pray, so to say, but in our minds we are already calculating where to run to for help. I’m sure you understand this behaviour.

I have since learnt that a fellow man is as helpless as I am. Note that God will always use men for you, but they will be His own choice not yours. Stop praying to God and looking unto men.

Hear this:

2 Kings 6:27 “And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?”
