​Timnath: Honey in the lion

Judges 14:8 “And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, [there was] a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion.”

Judges 14:9 “And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat…”

I learnt a great lesson from our focal scripture which really encouraged my heart. After some days, Samson was passing through the path where he killed the lion and he turned aside to see what had become of its carcase and guess what? He didn’t see a decaying lion, he saw honey.

Beloved, your honey is hidden in the young lion the enemy sent against you. If you don’t kill the lion you will never have access to the honey.

The place of terror, fear and defeat could turn out to be your place of victory, success and breakthrough. You might have left your “food” at a place you ran away from. The things that scared you is the key to your victory. 

Samson got the honey, ate out of it and gave to his father and mother and they ate also. These were the same folks who discouraged him from the Timnath venture at first.

When you become successful, the people that were opposing you will come and rejoice with you. His parents wouldn’t have enjoyed the sweetness of the honey if he had not insisted on following the vision of God for his life.

Beloved, know God for yourself. Know what he want you to do. Don’t let humans discourage and stop you.

Face and kill every lion, knowing full well that it is your key to “sweetness”. Your gaze should be on the prize (honey) not the price (lion). The bigger the price, the bigger the prize.

The challenges of life always stand between us and our sweetness and victories. 

Friend, scale that obstacle. Breakthrough the barrier and limitations.

Your sweetness, honey and victory is always at the other side of the problem, Selah!
