Timnath: Kill the lion-1
Judges 14:5 “Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.”
Judges 14:6 “And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and [he had] nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.”
Friend, note the description of the lion sent against Samson; the enemy didn’t send an old lion to him, he sent a young one. We don’t know the age of this particular lion but one thing is clear, a young lion is potent, agile, active and obviously stronger than an old one.
The enemy will stop at nothing to stop us but we owe ourselves the responsibility not to be stopped! The grand design and strategy of the enemy is to scare us away from Timnath which is our portion and of course he has stopped many. The question is: Will you allow yourself to be stopped?
Intimidation is a weapon in the hand of the enemy and what better animal to send than the lion? The lion has a paralysing effect on it’s prey.
The roar of a lion kills more animals than it’s actual attack. Once the lion roars, the other animals out of confusion runs into it’s den, such was the paralysing effect of the lion.
But then, as intimidating as the lion of the enemy is, it is just a fake! The devil only tries to mimic the original lion, it is not the real deal.
1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
The devil operates as a roaring lion, he is not a lion. Beloved, I am glad to let you know that what you have been running away from all along has been a “toy lion”.
The word “young” as used to describe the lion sent against Samson means placate, subdued, inexperienced, covered up in order words fake.
To be continued…
