Judges 14:1 “And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.”
Judges 14:2 “And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.”
Judges 14:4 “But his father and his mother knew not that IT [WAS] OF THE LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.
Judges 14:4 “(His father and mother had no idea that GOD was behind this, that he was arranging an opportunity against the Philistines. At the time the Philistines lorded it over Israel.)” (MSG)
That’s very interesting. Samson’s parents were never going to support his venture because they felt it is not right by the law to marry from the Philistines but unfortunately, they were not sensitive enough to see God quietly orchestrating things. God was behind this move but they knew it not!
Friend, I want you to understand that we all have a Timnath locked up in the enemy’s territory. The Philistines were Israel’s unrepentant perennial enemies but Timnath belong to Samson.
Several times in our lives, we can recognise our Timnath but we lacked the boldness and courage to go for it because it is in the enemy’s domain.
I have seen a believer’s promotion given to another person just because he’s a “born again”. I have seen the enemy holding on to what belong to a believer simply because he’s scared of asking for it.
The enemy takes delight in tormenting and taunting believers simply because he feels we are weak and will not respond. Sometimes, the enemy intentionally go and camp around our Timnath just because he knew it is ours,
The devil has even turn the fortune of many upside down because they are not ready to confront him.
To be continued…
