Psalms 23: Dwellers

Psalms 23: Dwellers

Psalms 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will DWELL in THE HOUSE of the LORD for ever.”

Who is a dweller? A dweller is an inhabitant of a specific place; an inhabitant or denizen. He is one with legal rights who can stake a claim on a place. This is what makes a person become a citizen of a place after staying or “dwelling there” for a particular period of time.

There are things that are reserved for dwellers which a visitor will never have,

David understand this so well, he declared, “…and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” I will not visit the house of the Lord, I will dwell there! In order words, “I will pack all my belongings and permanently move to church or better still,  my life will be ruled by God’s word!”

A lot of people have gifts and talents but they don’t excel because they’re not dwellers. They don’t stay to horn their gifts and understand process before jumping out.

Friend, learn to stay with a task until it is accomplished, that is dwelling. Sit with a battle until you conquer.

The only safe place to be is with the Lord, Hear David again:

Psalms 91:1 “He that dwelleth in the secret the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

The good things of life only answer to dwellers. God knows hit- and-run folks. These are people who just want miracles and as soon as they get it, disappears from church.

Psalms 92:13 “Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.”

David said those that be planted. Until you’re planted your destiny will not open up. If you keep getting uprooted and transplanted to different places you will soon die and your destiny will be given to another.

To flourish, get planted. Also note that the dwelling we are talking about is not just anywhere but the Word of God!  Let His word rule and reign in your life.
