Psalms 23: Preparation-2
Psalms 23: Preparation-2
Psalms 23:5 “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”
…From yesterday…
1 Samuel 13:9 “And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.”
1 Samuel 13:10 “And it CAME to PASS, THAT AS SOON as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, BEHOLD, SAMUEL CAME; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.”
Saul was the king in Israel while Samuel was the priest. Kings rule and go to war but receives divine instructions and direction from the priest. In this particular encounter, Saul was to wait for Samuel to come and perform the priestly sacrifice.
He waited for Samuel for seven days which was the time Samuel set, but he ran out of patience when the day seems to be over. Some minutes to midnight he performed the sacrifice, but as soon as he finished, Samuel showed up. Unfortunately for Saul he lost his throne that same day and the kingdom was taken away from his family forever.
Patience is a virtue every believer is encouraged to have. Without patience the devil will easily seduce us into errors with deadly consequences.
Many people have lost their thrones and Kingdom in life to impatience. People get married to just anybody because they think God is “wasting their time” in bringing Mr or Miss Right.
People go to shrines to collect demonic children just because they feel they’ve been married for “so long”. Others do money rituals and join cults all because the “food God is preparing” seems to be taking time.
Friend, wait for your prepared table. Even though it tarries, kindly wait. God’s timing is always superb. Preparation takes time!
Job 14:14 “If a man die, shall he live [again]? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.”
To be continued…
