Psalms 23: Preparatikn-1
Psalms 23: Preparatikn-1
Psalms 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
I got home recently, famished and tired. My wife was just preparing the food but I was very hungry. She asked me to wait for some time that the food will soon be ready but the way I was feeling I had to look for an alternative.
I laid hands on some snacks and drink just to cushion the effect of the hunger, eventually she finished cooking a very attractive meal, with a nice “aroma” but guess what?
I couldn’t eat it. There was no space left in my stomach for the sumptuous meal. I just stood admiring the food but couldn’t touch it. Then the Holy Spirit took me back to this scripture, he said, “That’s how my children behave in real life, many times, they lost the patience to wait for me”.
Immediately, the whole thing made sense to me. Friend, several times we are so much in a hurry that we run ahead of our shepherd. We look for alternatives while our main course is still on fire.
One thing we must understand with the word preparation is waiting and patience.
Friend, how long will you keep eating snacks and junks when the real food is almost done? I discovered that the time between when I took the snacks and when the main food was ready was barely 15 minutes. In life and destiny the time could even be shorter than that.
I discovered that was what finished the destiny of King Saul. You cannot run ahead of God and not get into trouble with him:
1 Samuel 13:8 “And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel [had appointed]: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.”
1 Samuel 13:9 “And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.”
1 Samuel 13:10 “And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering…”
To be continued…
