Psalms 23: Multiple routes-2

Psalms 23: Multiple routes-2

Psalms 23:3 “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

…From yesterday…

Another path of our Great Shepherd which we must master is his pathway to prosperity.

Remember from yesterday we established the fact that the word “path” means method, principle or standard. While one of the interpretations of the word “righteousness” as used in our focal scripture  is prosperity. In order words, God shows us the standard that makes a man rich. He leads a man that follows him to wealth and abundance.

So what is his path to prosperity? Friend, His path to prosperity is giving. The whole world may withhold what they have so that they can have more but that is not the path of our Great Shepherd.

Proverbs 11:24 “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and [there is] that withholdeth more than is meet, but [it tendeth] to poverty.”

2 Corinthians 9:6 “But this [I say], He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”

That’s the standard of our shepherd. When you release and let go of what is in your hand, he let’s go of what is in his hands and I can assure you, his hands are much bigger than yours! He’s got the whole world in his hand.

His paths are also what Jesus referred to as keys:

Matthew 16:19 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Once you can follow him, he is ever willing to take you by the hand and lead you along the successful paths. God will not compromise his standards and ways. Look for his paths and follow them.

Friend, the journey of Christianity becomes sweet and easy if we follow his standard of doing things. Once we adhere to his principles we get his kind of results.
