Psalms 23: Catch your breath-2

Psalms 23:3 “True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.” (MSG)

…From yesterday…

No matter how powerful and swift an aircraft is, it must have stops in order to refuel. If it doesn’t refuel it will sure come crashing down. Sometimes God stops us just for “refueling”.

David understood this principle so well. Hear this:

2 Samuel 5:23 “And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; [but] fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.”

2 Samuel 5:24 “And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.”

Here, David just won a battle against the Philistines and few days later they regrouped and came up against him again. He wanted moving in to fight them straight away but God told him to stop.

God stopped him in order to change the strategy for war. David understood the “stops of God” and waited patiently until God asked him to move in on the Philistines.

2 Samuel 5:25 “And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.”

He moved in and defeated them again. The enemy can never defeat a man who understands the moves and stops of God.

Friend, wait for restoration. Learn to understand there are times you need to stop so that you can refuel. A wise man said, “Delay is not denial”. He must have understood the concept of the waits and stops of God.

When the shepherd is leading the sheep, there is no stagnation just few stops in order for the sheep to catch their breath.

Why not wait for restoration? Don’t because of little stops, run ahead of the shepherd. Don’t run into error or trouble. Sheep’s follow and listen to orders. Trust the Shepherd, he knows when you need to rest!
