Psalms 23: He leads me-1

Psalms 23: He leads me-1

Psalms 23:2 “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”

One other great thing the shepherd does for his sheepfold is to lead them. Sheep must be lead otherwise they wander and perish. One major characteristic of many believers that is worrisome is that they want to lead God.

They love God no doubt but then they always want to impose their own ideas, visions and plans upon their “Great Shepherd”. They just want to do their own thing but want God to rubber stamp it and when it backfires still blame God for the failure.

Every sheep that has made a mark on earth walked patiently behind and with the Shepherd.

Genesis 5:24 “And Enoch walked with God: and he [was] not; for God took him.”

Enoch walked with him to the extent that they walked into heaven one day and he decided to stay there! You can also walk with him to that level.

Genesis 6:9 “…[and] Noah walked with God.”

Walking ahead of him is leading him and it always end in calamity.

The Hebrew word “leadeth” as used here is interpreted to mean: to conduct, to protect, sustain, guide and carry. It also means to take somebody somewhere or bring him somewhere buy means of instructions.

One of the meanings that caught my fancy is the word “to conduct “. To conduct is to direct a choir or a large orchestra. A choir that has a conductor who carefully leads them always sing in tandem with great cohesion and order.

Why many lives are out of order is because they are not watching the shepherd. The danger there is not just that their lives will not be in sync but that of others around them too. Your lack of cohesion will show up in your work, family and in the lives of others as well.

Friend, it is easy to be lead by the shepherd, the main principle is just to obey him. He leads us by means of instructions and our instruction manual is the Bible.

Beloved, whatsoever he tells you to do, DO!

To be continued…
