​Keeping up appearances-3

2 Timothy 3:5 “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

2 Timothy 3:5 “They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people.”

…From yesterday…

Beloved, God is a righteous judge who want reliable witnesses not a man who have shallow and distance knowledge of him. 

Christianity is a way of life and everything we read in the bible is still practicable today.

The Bible says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8). 

God is not keeping up appearances neither does He want us to. He want to prove His awesome power once again in our lives. You’ve  read that He parted the red sea for Moses, He want to part your present day red sea of lack, want, sickness, frustrations and confusion.

Jesus healed the blind, lame, deaf and dumb then, he want to do it today in our lives. Settle down and quit keeping up appearances. It’s high time we allow Him prove Himself faithful.

To allow the power of God flow like in the days of old we need to stop keeping up appearances in three critical areas. These are the areas the Pharisee’s uses to camouflage their fake Christianity.

Matthew 6:1 “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.”

Matthew 6:1 “Be especially careful when you are trying to be good so that you don’t make a performance out of it. It might be good theater, but the God who made you won’t be applauding” (MSG)

The first area you see believers keep up appearances is in the area of giving and being good to others. Everybody want to be recognised as a giver and one that is good to others but in reality, the way many go about it totally wrong and as a matter of fact do not get blessed in return.
