Why do men sleep? -5
Matthew 13:25 “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.”
Revelation 3:17 “Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked” (NKJV)
A complacent man seeks to live outside God, he chooses not to rely on God any longer. He felt so satisfied by the blessings that he totally forgets the One who blessed him.
Friend, never allow the devil move you into this zone. I have seen many believers attain some level of success through some spiritual practices and suddenly those practices that brought about the success becomes alien in their lives.
They stop attending church, treating people right, showing care and commitment. They stop daily fellowship and devotion with God, stop giving, fasting and even praying.
That was the case of the Laodicean brethren. Complacency is a devastating weapon the enemy uses to easily bring a man down. Don’t be caught in this Web.
Another dimension to complacency is overconfidence. This was what nearly truncate the colourful destiny of Apostle Peter. Jesus told him the devil was after him and will make him deny him but Peter refused to listen. He felt he was so spiritually sound that nothing could move him. Instead of him to tread on the side of caution and ask the Master how to avoid the error, he didn’t.
The end result was his great fall. Hear this:
1 Corinthians 10:12 “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”
Friend, take heed!
5. CARELESSNESS: This is one reason most believers have fallen asleep and never recover. This is a silent destroyer of men and destinies.
The dictionary says to be careless means, “Not giving sufficient attention or thought, especially concerning the avoidance of harm or mistakes.”
