​While men slept-4

Matthew 13:25 “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.”

…From yesterday…

1 Peter 5:8 “Be on your guard and stay awake. YOUR ENEMY, THE DEVIL, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack.”(CEV)

The scripture didn’t say one of your enemies, “the devil” but rather it says, your enemy, the devil. In order words, it’s not that man or woman that is your enemy, it is the devil and he is merely using or manipulating that man or woman and moving them against you. Don’t let his mask fool you.
3. Enemies are limited when we are awake: The Bible says, “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares…”

It is interesting to note that the enemy came and sowed tares when this man slept. While he was awake and alert the enemy kept off. It is our sleep and slumber that gives the enemy the impetus to attack. The enemy is going “to and fro” looking for sleeping believers. 

He knows while you are awake, there are things he cannot dare. The major problem is that he equally knows when you are asleep because he his standing and watching from afar. 

He cannot sow tares in the field of a man that is awake, he knows such a person will confront him. The devil is scared of a believer that stands his ground against him. That’s why the bible warns us to stay awake and be vigilant!

1 Peter 5:8 “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil…”(NLT)

To be alert means; to be attentive, awake and on guard. The Bible severally refers to us as soldiers and one of the top quality of a soldier is alertness. A “sleeping” soldier on the battle field will most certainly end up dead.

Friend, don’t ever let the devil catch you napping, remember:

1 Peter 5:8 “Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping.” (MSG)
