​The four lepers: Miracles outside the gate-3

2 Kings 7:8 “And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold…”

2 Kings 7:9 “Then they said one to another…that we may go and tell the king’s household.”

…From yesterday…

If you read the story of the four lepers down in 2 Kings 7, you will discover the king of Israel also took the same position as Peter.

He was skeptical when told what has happpened. His miracle happened outside the gate but he doubted it because he thought it should happen within. 

Friend, look beyond your little enclosure. Think outside the box. Miracles are supernatural acts of God, and you cannot limit Him by your assumptions and scope of thought. 

The people of Nineveh were to be destroyed and God went all the way to the region of Joppa to raise them a deliverer called Jonah. If they had rejected him they would have rejected their deliverance. 

Israel was at war and Goliath alone held a whole nation to ransome but God showed up with a young boy called David to rescue them. David was not in their league, he was a civilian, too young to be enlisted in the army. He was simply outside the gate but he came and did what the people within couldn’t. 

Joseph was outside the gate in Egypt. He was a slave, a convict and a foreigner yet he had the solution to the puzzle. If the Egyptians had rejected him as a man from outside the gate, they would have died of famine.

Perhaps, you have been thinking within the box expecting the spectacular, God is saying, “Don’t limit Me!” 

Friend, become an outside the box thinker. Read more, study more, get inspired beyond the norm. We serve an Unlimited God, stop restricting Him. Quit calling common or unclean what He has made clean.

Beloved, you may need to pay another visit to those stuff you have abandoned outside the gate!
