The four lepers: Right questions-2
2 Kings 7: 3 “And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die”
These four beggers woke up one day and asked themselves the question; “Why sit we here until we die?”
Friend, that is one question you need to ask yourself. Yours could be, “What am I doing here?”, “Why have I been sick?”, “How do I get out of this financial mess?”, “How do I make progress in life?”, “Why have I been stagnant in life?”.
Whatever your situation is, sit down and ask yourself some critical and vital questions! Change begins with questions.
One powerful statement of Jesus is this:
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
The reason why you’ve not been “given”, “finding” and enjoying open doors is probably because you’ve not been asking. The quality of your questions determine the quality of your answers.
Matthew 7:8 “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
When you start reasoning well, changes are inevitable.
These beggers were outcasts because of their condition. Lepers were not allowed to stay in the community of “normal” people. Any attempt to come to town will sure lead to their deaths under the old covenant.
These folks were down and out but they eventually became the saviour of the whole land, Friend, where has life relegated you to? Have you been pushed out and rejected because of your condition?
Things can turn around for you if only you will get inquisitive. You don’t need to stay there. What you see in life depends on what you are looking for. These four lepers made up their minds that they needed change and it happened for them.
Beloved, it’s high time you ask yourself quality questions that can expose you to your shortcomings and give meaning to your life.
