A visit to the Ants-8
Proverbs 6:6 “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:”
Jesus came and also made a serious statement about planning:
Luke 14:28 “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have [sufficient] to finish [it]? ”
Luke 14:31 “Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth…”
Jesus showed us here the importance of planning. He gave us two scenarios; The first is of a man planning to build and of a king preparing for war. In these two instances planning is critical to success.
One of my spiritual mentors said, “Being spiritual does not mean you should suspend the use of your brain”. Planning involves a lot of brain work and we cannot neglect this important ingredient in the success equation.
Whatever we hope to achieve in life is on the premise of BUILDING or WARFARE. Jesus used those two examples knowing full well that we are either building a new business; career, vision, setting a new goal or planning to take over a new territory.
Building a new business requires planning for the venture and knowing how to take calculated risks rather than jumping without a parachute. We might also be venturing into a zone that is occupied. Any worthwhile investment already has a king in-charge. These kings could be physical or spiritual.
If for example you want to venture into sports, athletics for instance, you will meet the man or woman who is already the world title holder. That is the king or queen as the case may be. You need to know his or her schedule and how to train and break his record. That involves a lot of strategic planning.
Ants are not short-sighted creatures; they think summer in winter, and winter in summer.
Friend, plan, plan and plan! God gave you a brain; use it to think through problems. Don’t gather wood to make fire when it is raining, do that long before the rains, Selah!
