People that hinder us: Elymas-3
Galatians 5: 7 “Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?”
So how do I handle an Elymas?
Acts 13:9 “Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
Acts 13:10 “And said O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord
The first most important factor in handling an Elymas is the in-filling of the Holy Spirit. You will never defeat an Elymas in your own strength and with your own strategy.
The bible says, “Saul…filled with the Holy Ghost, set eyes on him”. Saul by the aid of the Holy Ghost set eyes on him. The first thing the Holy Spirit helped Saul to do was to recognize the Elymas that was withstanding him.
The truth of the matter is that an Elymas might not be recognized. Many a times the people we think are helping us might even be the Elymas. The Holy Spirit opened his eyes and he recognized the man working against his progres
The next thing he did was to confront him. We must pick up courage from the Holy Ghost to confront the Elymas. If Saul had kept quiet Elymas would have silenced his ministry.
Elymas must be confronted in the power of the Holy Ghost. Remember:
Zechariah 4:6 “…NOT BY MIGHT, NOR BY POWER, BUT BY MY SPIRIT, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Let the Holy Spirit reveal their plots to you and use it in confronting them. That will sure remove the steam from their conspiracy.
Saul confronted Elymas and he became blind and helpless (Acts 13:11). To be blind means to be kept in the dark concerning a matter. When you confront them and they become exposed, they are kept in the dark concerning your affairs.
From today, the Lord will keep Elymas in the dark concerning your progress!
