​People that hinder us: JANNES AND JAMBRES-5 

Galatians 5: 7 “Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?”

…From yesterday…

Proverbs 21:23 “Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble” (NLT)

You don’t need to open your mouth wide every time. Don’t be a talkative especially when it comes to your dreams and visions. You must learn to discern where to talk, who to say it to and when to say it. 

Moses was a man who always act rather than talk. He always keeps Jannes and Jambres in the dark about his plans. They only react after the miracles had taken place.

Joseph on the other hand fell victim to the plots of his brothers because he violated Proverbs 21:23. His elder brothers where operating with the “Jannes and Jambres spirit”. They were envious of him for daring to dream!

Unfortunately for Joseph, he told them his first dream and they were mad but he went ahead and divulged the second. That got them really mad and they plotted to stop him by all means.

You may say but he eventually arrived in Egypt and became next to Pharaoh on the throne, but then if he had kept his mouth shut, he might have arrived Egypt probably on horseback, not in chains! 

Thirdly, always strike first. Hear this:

Exodus 7: 15 “Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river’s brink against he come and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.”

Here, God instructed Moses to get to the river bank first and confront Pharaoh there. Always be a step ahead of Jannes and Jambres. That was the edge Moses and the Israelites always had over them. 

Make the move and let them copy not the other way round. Take the step of faith first and you will always stay ahead. 

The Lord will keep you ahead in Jesus name.
