​Too many-3

Judges 7:2 “And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying Mine own hand hath saved me.”

1Samuel 14:6 “…THERE’S NO RULE THAT SAYS GOD CAN ONLY DELIVER BY USING A BIG ARMY. No one can stop GOD from saving when he sets his mind to it” (MSG)

I love this translation. It was Jonathan who made that all important statement. Himself and his armour bearer broke through the camp of the Philistines and literally sacked a whole garrison of the enemy. Just two men against a host of well-trained soldiers. I have a feeling those young men must have read the story of Gideon.

Friend, why not simply allow God choose His troop for the battle? Why not allow Him choose the starting eleven for the match? 

Three hundred men winning a war against one hundred and thirty thousand men is no mean feat. Beloved, what matters is the One backing you up.

When God told Gideon that he will smite the Midianites as one man, it made no sense but God proved it. 

The question is why did God reduce the troop drastically?

Judges 7:2 “…they’ll take all the credit, saying. ‘I did it all myself,’…” (MSG)

One thing God does not want us to touch is His Glory. He want to do things and take all the credit. 

Even a dummy knows that it will take more than strategy, planning and skills for three hundred men to defeat one hundred and thirty thousand men in battle. Only God does stuff like that!

Friend, what is that thing that is too much, thereby preventing God from working on your behalf?

You don’t need too many people, too much money, and too much education. Don’t let too much analysis paralyse your victory. The only personality you need is God.

It is not a game of numbers but a game of God. Let him decide the number! 

God always want all the glory.
