Judges 6:26 “And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down”
Friend, what altar are you building? The issue with many believers is that they come to Christ quite alright but run their lives as if they still own it.
God was telling Gideon to build an altar upon “the top” of the rock. Not below or beside but on top. He is a jealous God and will like to always maintain the top or number one position in our lives.
God knows that if you engage in warfare without proper leadership you will be injured.
I also want you to know that we are the altar in this New Testament dispensation and God expects us to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice.
Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Friend, yield yourself wholly to Him. We are altars and spiritual houses and God expects us to offer spiritual sacrifices to Him.
1Peter 2:5 “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”
I have seen believers who have very stinking characters. The truth is, they are born again but have not allowed the Holy Spirit work on them fully. They’ve not yield their members to Him. They are yet to enthrone God in every area of their lives.
As New Creations we are asked to yield or present our bodies, God will not do that for us. He instructed Gideon to build the altar.
It is the responsibility of every one of us to allow the enthronement of God in our lives.
God is not in the business of building altars to worship Himself. That is solely our responsibility and we must do it.
Love you BiG
