Judges 6:4 “And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.”
Look at the end result of the encampment against Israel:
Judges 6: 6 “And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.”
The children of Israel became impoverished. The strategy of the enemy is to impoverish the believer.
To impoverish simply means to make poor, weaken in quality or deprive of strength or richness. Once you notice any of these symptoms in any area of your life especially your spiritual life, you must stay alert and fight back.
Don’t ever allow the enemies weaken the quality of your faith or strength in God. Develop an unshakable faith in God and His word. Refuse to doubt God even if it seems results or answers are being delayed. If you hold on to God He will come true for you.
The enemy impoverishes the believer in order to make him run to him for hel
I have read stories of men who because of poverty go into money rituals. The enemy encamp around there business till it run aground. He frustrates their career till they could barely eat. He even paint God to them as wicked and eventually make them run to him for help.
I have seen young promising girls becoming harlots and young men becoming armed robbers all because they couldn’t handle the encampment of the enemy the right way. Many don’t even see the enemy working behind the seen until it was too late. Let us consider this account:
2Kings 6:24 “And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up and besieged Samaria.”
2Kings 6:25 “And there was a great famine in Samaria”
2Kings 6:29 “So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son
