Judges 6:2 “And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: [and] because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which [are] in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.”

Judges 6:3 “And [so] it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;”

Another major thing to note about an invasion of the enemy is that, the enemy works in gangs. Devils and demons have a well structured system. They have a network designed to frustrate the believer and keep him/her down. 

Note that when the Midianites came to attack and invade Israel, they didn’t come alone, they invited two of their “allies”, the “Amalekites and the children of the East”.  

This is where we must be extremely careful. We must watch out for bad habits and characters that destroys men. When the enemy introduces a wrong appetite to a man take for example drugs, in a matter of time, disease comes into the man’s body. The issues he will be dealing with won’t just be the drugs again, he will have to deal with his failing/ill health as well.

When the enemy succeeds in making a man fall in love with money, the bible says he will have to deal with other evils as well. 

1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

When the love of money takes over a person, he or she in no time will have to deal with other demons such as; greed, lies, deception and even murder. That’s why you hear phrases such as, “He can kill for money”. The enemy comes in gangs.

The word Midian means “strife”, Amalek means “dweller in a valley”, while children of the East means “ancient time, antiquity “.
