Wrong timing

Lessons from the fig

Wrong timing

Mark 11:13 “And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the TIME of FIGS WAS NOT [YET]”

Beloved, another lesson to be learnt from this fig is how we use time. This fig was trying to fruit in a wrong season. It was probably a season to take root downward and prepare for fruiting but it chose to fruit rather than work and prepare.

Friend, any man who have no respect for time will not go far in life and destiny. Doing the right thing at the wrong time is tantamount to doing the wrong thing. Wrong timing negates our actions no matter the rightness of the action.

God does not live in time but He respects time. Hear this:

Galatians 4:4 “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son…”

God lives in eternity but works with time. He timed the birth of Jesus to perfection. He waited for the right time and released Christ. In the same vein Christ’s death:

Romans 5:6 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”

If God who created time respects time, who are we not to?

This fig tree broke the protocol of correct timing and paid dearly for it.

Friend, where have you been abusing time? It’s high time you have a sober reflection and change. There is a perfect time for every purpose and once missed there will be consequences.

The Book of Ecclesiastes chapter three shows us about twenty eight seasons or times we are to respect and I think it’s worth reading and studying.

Correct timing gives a man, an event, a project or object beauty. Hear this:

Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He hath made every [thing] beautiful in his time…”

If there is something you’re currently struggling with; you might want to settle down and check your timing. If it’s not beautiful, the timing is probably wrong!
