Half-time -6
Half-time -6
Job 42: 12 “So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.”
…From yesterday…
One other ingredient that helped Job in the final half were his acquaintances.
Friend, during this half time break can you just sit back and reassess your relationships. Who are the people closest to you? What role are they playing in relation to your goals in 2017?
If you must do well in the second half of this year, you will need relationship re-evaluation. The truth is this, there are people you must drop from your life and in the same vein there are new relationships you must cultivate.
This is the reason why football coaches make substitutions during the half-time or after the resumption of the second half. Coaches analyse a match, keep those doing well on the pitch and pull out the under or non-performers.
Job’s friends believed so much in his second half comeback that they committed their personal monies, gold and other resources to his dream. Do you have such people in your life?
I mean men and women who are ready to give their time and energy to make sure you succeed. If you don’t have such then you need a relationship overhaul. When God wants to bless a man He brings a man into his life. Similarly, when the devil wants to destroy a man, he brings a man into his life. Beware!
Finally, these folks didn’t just give Job money and gold, they did “EAT BREAD WITH HIM IN HIS HOUSE” (Job 42:11) as well.
These are people with understanding. Bread represents the word of God.
John 6:48 “I am that bread of life.”
John 6:51 “I am the living bread which came down from heaven…”
Jesus is the word of God, the bread of life. Job’s friends shared the word of God with him. They encouraged each other with the bread.
To be continued…
