Job 42: 12 “So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.”
Friends, how does this relate to us? Well, this piece is not about football; it’s about picking up and applying a football concept to our lives. This concept is what I call the “Half-time” phenomenon.
We have gone half way through the year 2017. I want us to take a break to reflect on the year and quickly make a review to enable us arrive at a glorious end come December 2017.
In our focal scripture, the bible says “…the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning…” that’s a powerful statement that we need to consider carefully.
This scripture simply shows that “Job’s first half” of the match was not as colourful as the second half. The truth of the matter is that several people have given up on 2017 already. They are already seeing patterns of failure that stopped them in previous years. Many are not expecting much from this great year anymore.
Many people had high hopes for 2017, great determinations and expectations, but here we are in June and nothing seems to be going right. Beloved, this piece is for you if you find yourself in this type of situation.
Friend, I have news for you, 2017 can still become that glorious year for you. Things can still turn around so fast that it will baffle you. That long awaited miracle can still happen. That your hope that looks dashed can be restored again.
It doesn’t matter how many goals the devil and his cohorts have scored against you, you can “equalize” and move ahead to win the match!
Let’s get back to the Half-time phenomenon. Most great coaches wait for the half-time whistle to make the necessary adjustments to their game plan such that when their team resumes from the half-time break, they become a completely different side.
To be continued…
