​Why is this happening to me?-9

Genesis 25:22 “But the two children struggled with each other in her womb. So she went to ask the Lord about it. “Why is this happening to me?” she asked.” (NLT)

Genesis 25:22 “But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If [all is] well, why [am I] [like] this?|” So she went to inquire of the LORD.” (NKJV)

…From yesterday…

Rebecca did three key things considering the scriptures from Genesis 25: 22-24: She went and enquired of the Lord, she waited to receive an answer and then waited for the day of delivery.

When challenges come, do the three things Rebecca did. First, ask God to show you the WHY. The issue with several people is that when challenges show up, rather than enquire of the Lord, they complain to God and blame Him. 

You hear stuffs like:

Am I the only one? 

God, where are you? 

God, this is not fair!

Well, as far as the principles of prayer and what Rebecca did here are concerned, those are complaints, not prayers. All you need to do is ask him for his perspective on the matter, rather than blame him. Questions hide answers.

The second thing she did was to wait for God’s response. Many people speak to God in prayers, but not many ever wait for a response. They leave the place of prayer and do what their mind tells them, not what he says. 

Several believers pray to God with a closed bible and many times you wonder what they were telling him in the first place. The truth is this, we are more privileged and advantaged compared to Rebecca and the Old Testament patriarchs.

We are more privileged because we have a better covenant, but much more because we have the word of God documented as the bible. Rebecca had no bible to consult, but you and I do.

Several of life’s probing questions have been answered already in the holy bible. All you need to do is pick up your closed bible and seek out answers.
