Why is this happening to me?-2
Genesis 25:22 “But the two children struggled with each other in her womb. So she went to ask the Lord about it. “Why is this happening to me?” she asked.” (NLT)
Genesis 25:22 “But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If [all is] well, why [am I] [like] this?|” So she went to inquire of the LORD.” (NKJV)
…From yesterday…
Problems can come up in our lives that make us challenge our very existence. Job was a righteous man in his days, but at a point the challenges of life so overwhelmed him he started cursing the day he was bor
Job 3:3 “Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night [in which] it was said, There is a man child conceived.”
Job 3:4 “Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.”
When a righteous man like Job makes such statements, we know the situation is really bad. He even begged God to remove that day from the calendar of the world.
Job 3:3 “Obliterate the day I was born. Blank out the night I was conceived!”
Job 3:4 “Let it be a black hole in space. May God above forget it ever happened. Erase it from the books!” (MSG)
The situation must indeed be pathetic. Job was not alone in this, the great Prophet Jeremiah did sam
Jeremiah 20:14 “Cursed be the day I was born! May the day my mother bore me not be blessed!” (NIV)
I guess Jeremiah must have learnt it from Job, but the question is, Why would a man curse his birthday? The answer is not farfetched, “The challenges of life!”
In our focal scripture, Rebecca was in a similar situation and she asked this question; Why is this happening to me? Or Why am I like this?(NKJV)
Why did Rebecca ask this question? The bible says she had had series of struggles and fights within her.
To be continued.
