Genesis 27:40 “By your sword you shall live, And you shall serve your brother; And it shall come to pass, when you become restless, That you shall break his yoke from your neck.”(NKJ
Human praise is very deceptive. You see a man that God wanted to conquer a continent conquer a state within a country and he starts feeling on top of the world. You see him idolise himself and people start to hero worship him, while God watches in utter disbelief.
If there is any gift we all need in our lives, it is the gift of restlessness. This is what keeps us on our toes and makes us to reach out for more. Am I saying success is not good? Not at all! What I am saying is that we must have a right perspective toward success.
That perspective should be to celebrate the success by thanking God for it, but quickly leave the celebrations behind and focus on the next assignment that will make the next success happen.
God wants us to be like him; he started the creation of the earth on the first day and didn’t stop until the sixth. At the end of day one God said, “It was good..” but he didn’t stop until he was able to say, “It is Very good…”
Solomon said, “But the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” (Proverbs 4:1
That is the concept of God. He wants us to keep moving until we get to the perfect day, which of course is the resurrection day, when Christ shall appear in glory. As long as we are on this side of eternity God wants us to keep on aspiring for more. Hear this:
Amos 6:1 “Woe to them [that are] at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, [which are] named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!”
In the above scripture, those folks are resting, thinking they’ve arrived…
