Genesis 27:40 “By your sword you shall live, And you shall serve your brother; And it shall come to pass, when you become restless, That you shall break his yoke from your neck.”(NKJV)
…From yesterday…
Another thing I want you to note about the sword is that it represents your mouth. The Bible says:
Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Proverbs 18:21 “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit–you choose.” (MSG)
Why will the bible say this? Hear this:
Luke 21:15 “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”
Luke 21:15 “I will give you the wisdom to know what to say. None of your enemies will be able to oppose you…” (CEV)
The word mouth as used here is the Greek word, “stoma”, which simply means the “the sharper or the front or edge of a sword or (of a weapon)”.
Your mouth is an edge of a sword, therefore a closed mouth is a closed destiny. You must know how to skilfully use your mouth. You must simply know how to live by it because it can give you a great life or kill you and kill others around you.
Many people are suffering in life simply because they have not learnt to live by their sword. They keep cutting themselves and inflicting untold injuries on themselves. That’s the sad part, the same sword can give life if you’ve mastered it and kill even you if you’re ignorant of how to use it.
Therefore you don’t just need your sword, you need the requisite wisdom to use it to your advantage. “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom,” (Luke 21:15).
Not “mouth or wisdom” but “mouth AND (or together) with wisdom”.
Friend, you must learn to live by the sword! It was one of the things that made Esau great.
To be continued…
Love you BiG
