Genesis 27:40 “By your sword you shall live, And you shall serve your brother; And it shall come to pass, when you become restless, That you shall break his yoke from your neck.”(NKJV)
…From yesterday…
This passage (Genesis 36:6 & 7) showed us what later became of Esau and Jacob.
The two brothers finally met after several years but notice carefully here that they were both rich and exceptionally wealthy.
As a matter of fact they had to part ways because the land couldn’t sustain or contain their combined wealth.
Earlier on, Jacob cheated his brother and it was as if Esau would die poor and wretched.
I even realize we were never told in Sunday school that Esau had anything in life. It was as if after Jacob stole his birthright and collected their father’s blessing Easu died.
Beloved, Esau’s story didn’t end there, he still went ahead and became great.
I am glad to let you know that the fact that somebody cheated you does not have to mark the end of your story. You can always bounce back and prove book makers wrong.
Yes, Esau was careless and handled the affairs of life with levity and profanity but he later picked up the pieces of his life and became wealthy and powerful. Hear thia:
Genesis 33:1 “And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.”
Genesis 33:3 “And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.”
Genesis 33:4 “And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.”
The same Esau who was left alone and given up for a nonentity now had four hundred men working for him, while Jacob that cheated him now had to bow before him trembling not once but seven times.
To be continued…
