Breaking the Esau code
THE BACKGROUND STORY-1
Genesis 27:40 “By your sword you shall live, And you shall serve your brother; And it shall come to pass, when you become restless, That you shall break his yoke from your neck.”(NKJV)
Esau’s story and life happens to be one of the most pathetic stories in the bible. Right from children Sunday school most of us have heard his story and nobody want to associate with him.
As a matter of fact I am yet to come across any man named Esau. This man had several weaknesses the most notable being his appetite. He lost his birthright due to his poor judgment and improper value system.
He was the firstborn who sacrificed and jeopardize his future for a meal of red pottage, not even rice, salad or other delicacies.
Well, such was the life style of Esau also called Edom.
All these wouldn’t have happened if not for the role played by his “smart” brother, Jacob also known as Israel.
Jacob stole, supplanted or bought Esau’s birthright. Whichever way you look at it.
In this piece however, the Holy Spirit will be opening our eyes to some truths which many of us may not have noticed. 
As I was studying Genesis and looking at the life of these two brothers. I saw something very interesting.
Genesis 36:6 “Esau took his wives, his children, and his entire household, along with his livestock and cattle—all the wealth he had acquired in the land of Canaan—and moved away from his brother, Jacob.”
Genesis 36:7 “There was not enough land to support them both because of all the livestock and possessions they had acquired.” (NLT)
Very interesting scripture. The bible showed us something here which I want us to look at critically.
This passage showed us what later became of Esau and Jacob.
The two brothers finally met after several years but notice carefully here that they were both rich and exceptionally wealthy.
