SACRIFICING ISAAC
Order in the place of sacrifice-1
Genesis 22:9 “And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.”
Beloved, do you take time to think about and plan your offerings to God? That’s the challenge Abraham is throwing to us in this piece.
The Bible says he got to the place of sacrifice and he built an altar, laid the wood in order, bind his son and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
Friend, do you normally build an altar before your sacrifice? When you see the word ‘altar’ in the bible, it signifies several things: it represents covenant, prayer and worship. It also means to kill or slay for sacrifice.
The truth is that many people don’t give their offerings or sacrifice the required attention. They just put things together hurriedly and drop it in church as if God is begging them for it. A sacrifice that will be acceptable to God must be given careful consideration.
Before you bring anything to God, take your time to raise an altar of prayer and worship. Let the packaging of your tithes, offerings, sacrifice or seed be deliberately done. The God you are offering it to is not like any other. He has protocols and procedure for receiving gifts.
Always see your giving as an act of worship. Raise the altar of prayer and worship with your seed carefully and thoughtfully wrapped or packaged. I have since discovered that at the altar of prayer and worship, God can specify the seed he wants from you. He usually guides your giving and leads you aright.
After due consultations at the altar, you can then lay the wood and place the sacrifice on it.
Like we have discussed earlier wood represents the word of God. Don’t drop your seed without sending it on an errand.
To be continued…
