We’ll be back-4
Genesis 22:4 “Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.”
Genesis 22:5″ And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship and come again to you.”
Beloved, faith doesn’t mean your hope will not be shaken or your brain battered with fear, doubt and unbelief by the devil. Faith experiences all that, but still does what Abraham did:
Romans 4:18 “Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.”
Faith means you refuse to shift ground despite overwhelming opposing forces and evidences to the contrary. Faith believes in hope against hope, holding on to what has been spoken by God.
Hear what God said about Abraham again:
Romans 4:20 “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;”
Romans 4:21 “And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” (KJV)
Romans 4:20 “He didn’t tiptoe around God’s promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God,” (MSG)
I love that, Abraham didn’t “tiptoe around God’s promises asking cautiously skeptical questions”. Abraham was fully persuaded that God could perform what he had said, and that settled it.
Is it easy? Not at all, but despite how we feel, what we hear and see, they are not strong enough to discredit what God has said.
I’ve been in and seen several contrary situations before. As a pastor, I have prayed for things and for people before and it seemed the more I prayed the more the contrary things I saw.
As a matter of fact, I have heard the devil whisper to me before that couldn’t I see that my prayers seemed to be causing more harm?
To be continued…
