SACRIFICING ISAAC
The Cross-5
Genesis 22:5 “…I and the lad will go yonder and worship and come again to you.”
Genesis 22:6 “AND ABRAHAM TOOK THE WOOD OF THE BURNT OFFERING, AND LAID IT UPON ISAAC HIS SON; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.”
…From yesterday…
Friend, prayer is not all about “God give me this and give me that.”
The main purpose of prayer is communion. Unfortunately, the only time many believers pray is when they are in trouble or when they need divine intervention. That’s a wrong approach to prayer.
Hear Jesus’ word again:
Matthew 10:38 “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”
We can translate it to mean, “If you will not pray and will not follow me, I can’t be your friend”. Carrying the cross of prayer is mandatory.
How do I carry the cross of prayer daily?
Acts 3:1 “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, [being] the ninth [hour].”
To carry the cross of prayer daily, the first principle is to schedule a prayer time. In Acts 3:1, Peter and John have a specific prayer time. They went to the temple at the hour of prayer!
Peter and John carried the cross of prayer and they healed the man who was lame at both feet. The Bible said, “Now Peter and John went up together…”
Beloved, they went UP, each time you carry the cross of prayer, you go UP not down. Prayer takes a man UP, not just to enjoy God’s presence but also to experience promotion.
No man prays and goes down, prayer is a tool for rising in life and destiny and once you can schedule a time or an hour of prayer, you are on your way to the top.
If you don’t see prayer as a divine appointment, you will never pray.
Another powerful tool that will aid us at the place of prayer is what I call a prayer List.
To be continued…
