Genesis 22:2 “And he said Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.”
When He asks you for something, he knows what he’s expecting and we know it too, but most times we give “One of the slaves or Ishmael” when we know he is asking for “Isaac”.
Friend, in case you think God is not interested in what you give, let me shock you:
Mark 12:41 “And JESUS SAT OVER AGAINST THE TREASURY, AND BEHELD HOW THE PEOPLE CAST MONEY INTO THE TREASURY: and many that were rich cast in much.” (Emphasis mine)
Mark 12:42 “And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.”
Mark 12:43 “And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in than all they which have cast into the treasury:”
Perhaps God is more interested in what we give than we can ever imagine. Can you imagine Jesus sitting by the offering basket and watching how they dropped the offering? God is interested in your offering and seeds, whether you like it or not, and he alone determines if what you give is a servant, Ishmael or Isaac.
He commended this poor widow, not because she gave the highest sum, but rather because she gave her Isaac.
Guess what? He is still sitting in heaven and watching the treasury!
A wise man said God is not really interested in what you give; he is more interested in what you want to keep.
One bible character we can’t stop talking about is the great King David and how God called him a man after His own heart. But one thing many fail to understand is the kind of heart David carried that endeared him to God’s heart. Hear this:
