Here I am

SACRIFICING ISAAC
Here I am
Genesis 22: 1 “And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said Behold, here I am.”
Can you imagine this episode? As we saw earlier, Abraham had become very wealthy and powerful. He has become a force on earth but I saw something amazing in our focal scripture.
God came to this “rich powerful ruler” and called to him once and he answered before God finished speaking!
As rich and as powerful as he was, God could still call out to him and get an immediate response. What a man Abraham was. No wonder God decided to use him in the first place.
Despite the fame and prestige he still reference God. God called him once and he left everything he was doing to heed the call. In fact he answered as if he was waiting for the call.
I have seen people who suddenly have a semblance of wealth who stopped coming to church. I’ve seen fervent men suddenly become too busy for God and the things of God.
Some even turn their pastors to God’s secretary. When they have a message for God they drop it with their pastors and expect God to do same. They’ve suddenly become too busy to fast, pray, study the word and hear from God; no wonder God couldn’t trust them with much.
God has so many people on earth he could have invited on an adventure but he chose Abraham. He knew no matter what, Abraham will always listen and obey him.
Abraham knew something David spoke about:
Psalm 16:11 “You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”
Abraham knew that an adventure with God always leads to a higher life not death and at the end fullness of joy and unending pleasures.
Beloved, can you trust God and allow Him lead you on an adventure? How rich will you become that you will not hear God again?
To be continued…
