The Adventure -3
Genesis 22: 1 “And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said Behold, here I am.”
The truth is that, from the age of seventy when Abraham encountered God, his life changed remarkably to that of an adventurer who has suddenly moved from the backside of life to the forefront. His life has been filled with exciting and rewarding adventures right from when his father died to this time.
Abraham has suddenly experienced what it means to worship a living God after worshipping idols for seventy years. After seventy years of idol worshipping he has had nothing to show for it, rather he was still squatting in his father’s house. But God appeared to him and took him on an adventure of a life time.
In twenty five years he has become wealthy, powerful and even had a child from his wife after menopause. Indeed it has been a worthwhile adventure.
But then, God said, “Abraham, I want to take you higher, let’s go on another exciting adventure!”
Each adventure with God doesn’t reduce a man it takes him to the next level. If you want to become greater and better in life and destiny then go on an adventure with God. Hear this:
Matthew 4:19 “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Jesus made the above statement to Peter and as of then Peter was a successful fish farmer. How do I know he was successful? Peter already has his own boat not hook line and sinker or canoe. He has his own boat and nets. But on this faithful day Jesus showed up and asked him to go on an adventure with him and move to the next level in ministry. Peter obeyed and followed and well over two thousand years later, we are still talking about that adventure.
Beloved, where you are that looks wonderful and great is not all there is to you. Can you dare to go on another adventure with the Lord?
To be continued…
