Problems in High Places-14
Problems in High Places-14
1 Samuel 16:14 “But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.”
1 Samuel 16:15 “And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.”
…From yesterday…
Beloved, what character is keeping you away from the palace? It could be very minute, but as long as it is an odour, it will keep greatness away from you. Hear this:
Hebrews 12:1 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”
Friend, what are the weights you need to shed off? Which negative character so easily besets or trips you? Do you listen to genuine criticism? What’s your human relationship like? Please watch your character so that it doesn’t keep you out of the palace!
1 Samuel 16:18 “…and the LORD [is] with him.’
The last but not the least quality is, “…and the LORD [is] with him.’ This talks about a deep relationship or intimacy with God.
This simply means that David was a deeply spiritual person. He was a believer and was not apologetic about it. There is no better way to describe a man than to say God is with him.
Until your spirituality becomes common knowledge there is something you are not doing right. Should men have to say something about you, will this be one of the things they’ll say?
Beloved, until your intimacy with God gets to a level you can boldly say, “I know Him”, you will struggle in life. Every man that has made impact has this testimony, “…and the LORD [is] with him.’
As we begin to round up this meditation, let us see what happens when the Lord is with a man. How does his life turn out? What are the distinguishing features we will see in his life?
To be continued…
